Lowville House dates back to the mid-18th century, when it was the seat of Nathanial Lowe. It has changed hands a number of times since then and has been the residence of Hon. Mrs. Low, Walter McDonagh, Bernard Connaughton and the Byrne family. The house was sold most recently in the 1970s.

It doesn't look like much has happened since then and it is now the distinguished residence of the friendliest donkey in the world who roams freely through the rooms on the ground floor. There are glimpses of the former life of this building in the form of ornate plaster work and a letterbox. The donkey appears in four pictures but you could easily miss him in one of them. Spot the donkey.
